About the Client

The Sustainability in Prisons Project is a partnership between The Evergreen State College and the Washington State Department of Corrections. SPP brings nature, science, and environmental education into correctional facilities across Washington State through programs focused on ecological conservation, sustainable operations, and restorative learning. Its work supports incarcerated participants, correctional facilities, partner organizations, families, researchers, donors, and communities while promoting positive environmental and human outcomes.

SPP’s work spans numerous programs, facilities, staff members, partners, stories, and resources, creating a complex website structure with more than 50 unique pages. The challenge was organizing this information for diverse audiences while keeping navigation clear. The platform also needed to be simple enough for internal staff to update blogs, facility pages, program information, and inbound inquiries independently.

Solution

Agency Partner Interactive redesigned and rebuilt the website on WordPress with a flexible page-builder framework. We created clear information architecture, facility-specific pages, dynamic blog functionality, custom forms, galleries, testimonials, team modules, and analytics integrations. SEO foundations, responsive testing, content migration, and admin training were also completed, giving SPP a scalable platform its internal team could confidently manage.
